Thousands Lost Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Around 25,000 households in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the state, producing powerful gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Damage
Residents reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to address the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, nearly 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred requests for assistance across the region, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

At the height on Sunday, more than 28k energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both regions.

Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the current weather patterns.
