Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said utility staff and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
